DESCRIPTION:Come for friendly, welcoming skating lessons that are open to the public and free this weekend only! (Part of Assiniboine Park’s “We are Winter” event. Come learn and then stick around for adult and family-friendly events all weekend.  ( https://www.assiniboinepark.ca/events/event/247 )\nLessons run from 12-4 and start on the hour every hour Saturday and Sunday. (Start times are 12, 1, 2, and 3pm)\nApproximate lesson length 45min.\nFirst come first serve.  Skates provided if needed. Bring your own if you have them.\nAll ages and abilities.\nBeginners very welcome.\nPlenty of other activities for the whole family to enjoy while you learn.\nTo join, please meet up in the duck pond shelter and visit the Zoogipon winter equipment kiosque.\nRSVPing below is appreciated.\nAll skaters are invited to return for a group night skate at 6:30pm.\nAbout the instructors:\nSkating Instructor Leigh Anne Parry – Leigh Anne Parry is a special projects manager for Winnipeg Trails. Her educational background is in theatre and her work history covers a wide range of outdoor work, professional dance, mechanics and trails. For the past 4 years she has been teaching skating and cycling for beginners as part of Winnipeg Trails programming at various locations in Winnipeg including IRCOM and The Forks. She loves to play recreational hockey when she can with teams at the Highlander in Winnipeg.\n \n
