The free mobile library will make its first appearance of the year before heading off to events all over Winnipeg and the surrounding area. (see the main page for all that info). Everyone is invited to come ski the new trails at Assiniboine park and learn about the full calendar of events we have planned.

Lots of skis of every size available. Come down!

Zoogipon Ski and Skate Shack is now open: Come celebrate the opening with us. After Friday, people will be able to come down to Assiniboine park and get skis, snowshoes, kicksleds, skates and more. All equipment use is by donation. If you can’t make it to a mobile ski library, or simply want to explore the beautiful ski trails at Assiniboine park, this is for you.

Swap gear.  If you have extra winter equipment you want to either sell, donate or trade, bring it down. We’re suggesting that people bring toboggans, skis, boots, poles, skates or snowshoes. Bring your gear, we’ll label it as part of the swap and you can connect with others. You never know who you’ll end up connecting with.

Why: The Winterpeg project started amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as a way for people to have fun, in winter, outdoors, near their home. Our motto is “Winter Fun, Near You”. Since then we have grown. Our largest event had 975 people sign up to ski on one day! Thanks to donations of equipment from 100s of Winnipeggers, and funding from all levels of government and multiple partners, we offer accessible programming that is unique worldwide. Come learn about this year’s schedule and all the places you can rent skis, and specialty programming we offer. Hot chocolate and beer.
