Winterpeg is For Everyone

Welcome to skiing and more at Fort Whyte! (get directions)

Fort Whyte is gorgeous in the winter. Borrow skis and other equipment for free* and hit the trails at FortWhyte Alive!

This is an accessibility-focused cross-country ski day for persons with disabilities and their families with Accessible Sport Connection and Winnipeg Trails, hosted at Fort Whyte Alive.

Standard and adaptive ski equipment will be available (quantities limited) for you and your loved ones to hit the trail together. Special focus on skiing for persons with disabilities, including techniques, adapted equipment and information sharing by people with lived experience.

The event begins at 9:30 am with an accessibility-focused skiing talk inside the Alloway Reception Centre followed by a vision-impaired ski.

Afternoon programming begins at 12:30 pm with guest speakers discussing mobility-impaired skiing and a sit-ski try-it event for the rest of the afternoon.

*Equipment use and basic instruction and tips is provided for free. Entry to the site is by general admission. OR Entry to Fort Whyte is free for members and/or people arriving on foot or by bike. AND/OR No one without funds turned away.
