FREE Skate Lessons 5PM START
Part of Assiniboine Park’s We Are Winter Celebration.
Come for friendly, welcoming skating lessons that are open to the public and free this weekend only! Learn and then stick around for all kinds of adult and family-firendly events all weekend.
Lessons run from 4-6 and start on the hour.
Start times are 4pm and 5pm.
Approximate lesson length is 30-40min.
First come first serve.
Skates provided if needed. Bring your own if you have them.
All ages and abilities.
Beginners very welcome.
Plenty of other activities for the whole family to enjoy while you learn including an (optional) 80s night of skiing and skating that night.
To join, please meet up in the duck pond shelter and visit the Zoogipon winter equipment kiosque.

About the instructors:
Skating Instructor Leigh Anne Parry – Leigh Anne Parry is a special projects manager for Winnipeg Trails. Her educational background is in theatre and her work history covers a wide range of outdoor work, professional dance, mechanics and trails. For the past 4 years she has been teaching skating and cycling for beginners as part of Winnipeg Trails programming at various locations in Winnipeg including The Forks. She loves to play recreational hockey when she can with teams at the Highlander in Winnipeg. Her main skating passion comes from teaching newcomers to Canada.
